Sourav Sarangi, born in 1964, studied geology but later joined the FTII in Pune to learn film editing. Currently he is involved in international co-productions as an independent producer and director. The few documentaries and fictions Sourav made won awards and accolade worldwide. He has also worked extensively for private television channels in India as a programming director. Normally he spends a long time to observe and interact with his characters to bring out the inner reality in a cinematic way, which is again minimalist and simple.
The film seeks to disseminate the pains and penury, the anger and resoluteness of the sufferers of erosion.
