For over 20 years, Sameera has been involved in the field of Media and Communications as a freelancer; undertaking filmmaking, film and video editing, scriptwriting, still and video photography, teaching, and workshops. Among her prominent films are two films of the series 'Portraits of Belonging' - on Bhai Mian, a kite maker, and Sagira Begum, an ancenstral zari embroiderer - their life, work, habitat, skill, memories, thoughts, presence - portraits. She also directed 'If You Pause', a film that looks at objects in a museum of craft. Sameera has edited several documentaries and some feature films, many of which have received critical acclaim nationally and internationally.
