R rohini

Born in 1968, Rohini started her career as a child artist at the age five. Both as a child artist and leading actor, she has over 130 South Indian films to her credit. Rohini received the National Award of Special mention and Andhra Pradesh State Award for Best Female Actor in the year 1996 for the film 'Sthree'. She worked with eminent directors like Balu Mahendra in Marupadiyum, Kamal Haasan in 'Virumandi', K. BhagyaRaj in 'Pavunu Pavunuthan', Singeetham Srinivasa Rao in 'Magalir Mattum'. Apart from mainstream cinema, Rohini has made a foray into television. She started writing scripts for TV series social issues "Kelvigal Aayiram" in 2003 for a year. Being an activist for AIDS awareness, Rohini has also directed short films for MGR Medical University and Tamil Nadu Aids Control Society. 'Silent Hues' is Rohini's first attempt at documentary film making.
