Nandini specialized in editing at the FTII in Pune and graduated in 1987. In 1994, she started making her first documentary. Her passion for documentaries is evident. In 2007, 'Ambi Jiji's Retirement' won two prestigious awards. It was her first film with the Garos with whom she lived for two years. In a remote village in West Garo Hills. 'Notes on Man Capture' is her second film with the same people. She presently lives in the Netherlands with her family.
