C. Saratchandran was an apprentice to the Late Sri. G Aravindan, in his film 'Pokkuveyil' (Twilight). He started video documention of environmental struggles, campaigns and actions from 1982. Two of his early films were 'No to Dams, A Pooyamkutty Tale' (1986) and 'Save the Western Ghats March: A Kerala Experience' (1988). Under Third Eye Communications, he has worked together with P. Baburaj on 'Kanavu', 'Chaliyar... The Final Struggle', 'Kaippuneeru' and 'Only An Axe Away'. 'Chaliyar.. The Final Struggle' received a Special Mention at the MIFF 2000, and the Bronze Tree Award in Vatavaran 2002.
